Government will shortly be further enhancing maritime legislation to increase the level of efficiency in the sector while bolstering the island’s overall efforts to develop its maritime framework.
The announcement comes from Minister of Tourism and International Transport Ian Gooding-Edghill.
The Minister was at the time presenting the Minister’s Award for Excellence in Maritime Studies for 2023, to two students of the Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technology (SJPI) at the Ministry’s Offices.
They are 23-year-old Richard Carter and 20-year-old Jadun Clarke, who both completed their Diploma in Marine Diesel Engineering at the SJPI.
The Minister also congratulated the two recipients for their hard work in the specialised area.
The two awardees were proud to receive the recognition.
