Barbados’ Ambassador to CARICOM David Comissiong says the declaration at the end of the G77+China summit held in Cuba over the weekend, highlights the precarious position the world is in today.
The summit wrapped up with the adoption of the Havana Declaration.
Participants reached consensus on the need of developing countries to close ranks to face current global challenges.
They also stressed the need for a more equitable world order to address poverty, access to science and technology and climate change.
Barbados was represented by Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley.
According to Ambassador Comissiong, the Declaration suggests there’s too much inequality in today’s world.
He was a guest on the Conversation on CARICOM segment of CBC TV8’s Mornin’ Barbados.
