The Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology has joined forces with a group of like-minded organisations to work on combatting the effects of climate change in climate sensitive sectors.
However, Principal Dr. David Farrell says as talks of climate change and vulnerabilities continue, more needs to be done to deal with the issue.
The Regional Workshop on National Frameworks on Climate Services in the Caribbean is being held at the Accra Beach Hotel.
It’s a collaboration of a number of agencies including the CIMH, the World Metereological Organisation and the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration.
Dr. Farrell says the journey in climate services started over a decade ago, but Barbados is nowhere near where it ought to be in the fight on climate change.
