Just days away from the Atlantic hurricane season, the Drainage Division reveals there are still some flood hotspots needing urgent attention.
Senior Technical Officer, Charles Yearwood listed the problem areas last night as he responded to several concerned callers on the People’s Business where the focus was on hurricane preparedness.
He identified eight communities for which the division will be taking a more engineering approach to address flooding in these areas.
Mr. Yearwood also put a timeline on the work that will have to be done during what is traditionally the rainy season.
While those communities mentioned will take priority, other areas where flooding is a concern will also be addressed.
