The recent spate of cane fires is proving problematic for sugar industry officials.
Nearly four weeks into the 2023 sugar harvest Chief Executive Officer of the Barbados Agricultural Management Company Orlanda Atherley is reporting that the fires are having a negative effect on the industry’s resources.
He is also reporting there have not been any major break downs since the harvest started and everything is on schedule.
