The fire officers injured in a vehicular accident while responding to a fire on Friday, are said to be on the mend.
The Acting Divisional Officer with the Barbados Fire Service, Wayne Vaughan, speaking to CBC News after a fire at Passage Road, St. Michael today, provided the update regarding the crash which occurred on Friday at the Welches traffic lights in St. Michael.
The fire engine which was transporting four officers at the time, careened off the road, crashed into a tree and came to a stop on top of several boulders, after colliding with a jeep.
The fire tender also sustained major damage in the accident and Mr Vaughan said the loss of the vehicle did not impact the service’s response today.
