Family conflict a major cause of homelessness

There’s concern the incidence of homelessness in Barbados is increasing.

In response, the National Task Force on Homelessness, created by Government, is working to arrest the situation.

Deputy Chairman Jerome Gittens says the University of the West Indies has been tasked with compiling data, which he says will be useful to the Task Force and Government.

According to Mr. Gittens, family conflict is a major cause of homelessness in Barbados.
