Employers in tourism sector told to follow collective agreement

General Secretary of the Barbados Workers Union Toni Moore has a message for employers in the tourism sector.

She’s reminding them they must now follow the collective agreement if they are to benefit or continue benefitting from concessions.

The comments came as Government has moved to establish minimum rates of pay and conditions of work for employees in the tourism sector.

Ms. Moore adds her Union will not back down from the growing issue of job security and contract work.

She notes job security must align with the provision of the collective agreement, which guides contract work for those who sign on to the agreement.
