Education reform issue raised again

The issue of education reform has been raised during the debate on the Child Protection Bill.

There was an exchange between Minister in the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Investment, Chad Blackman, and Opposition Senator Tricia Watson over the Opposition’s stance on the abolition of the 11-plus exam.

Senator Blackman called on the leader of the Opposition in the Senate to apologise for the stance of the Democratic Labor Party on the issue of the 11 plus, which he says continues to contribute to societal inequalities.

Senator Watson responded saying the stated position is not hers.
