Given predictions for above normal activity during the 2024 Atlantic Hurricane season, Barbadians are being urged to take responsibility and ensure they are prepared.
Programme Officer with the Department of Emergency Management Simon Alleyne says all it takes is one hurricane to set back progress.
On Saturday, the official start of the season, the DEM in association with Sagicor General Insurance, will be hosting a Hurricane Awareness Open Day in Queen’s Park.
The day will get underway with a press conference to launch the 2024 Hurricane Awareness Month of activities.
Mr. Alleyne provided some insight into what to expect, on CBC TV8’s Mornin’ Barbados.
