Prepare to wait.
That’s the warning being given to all Barbadians attending the Queen Elizabeth Hospital at this time with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to QEH Communications Specialist Shane Sealy, the Hospital is once again experiencing a surge in the number of patients presenting themselves to the Accident and Emergency Department for treatment.
Mr. Sealy says just this morning 38 people walked in to be seen by doctors.
He says this current situation on top of what obtains has led to a backlog resulting in an increase wait time in the department.
Mr. Sealy maintains that Barbadians have the option of visiting the 24-hour Winston Scott Polyclinic at Jemmotts Lane, St. Michael for treatment or a private general practitioner of their choice.
