Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley has explained the decision to remove Neil Rowe as Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly.
In a statement after today’s session of the House she described it as one of the most difficult decisions in her 32 years in Parliament.
She says given Mr. Rowe has a matter before the court and has now been indicted, they feel it’s best he be allowed time to deal with his private matter.
The Prime Minister also notes Mr. Rowe remains the Member of Parliament for St. Michael North West.
