A documentary on the 1976 Cubana Airlines tragedy will premiere in Barbados this Friday.
The documentary, called Cubana 455, takes a look at the events leading up to the bombing of the aircraft, which plunged into the sea off Paynes Bay, St. James, resulting in the deaths of 73 passengers and crew members.
On Mornin’ Barbados, Ambassador to CARICOM, David Comissiong, spoke about what led filmmaker, Enrique Berumen, to produce the documentary.
The 46th anniversary of the tragedy will be commemorated on Thursday, with the rededication of the Cubana Monument at Paynes Bay, which was recently refurbished.
