Local cultural practitioners are working to create a greater appreciation for the festival of Kwanzaa.
This year marks 57 years that the event marked between December 26 and January 1 has been celebrating family, community and culture.
Locally, several of events have been planned including a parade in the Haynesville St. James community this afternoon.
Speaking on Mornin’ Barbados, Cultural Practitioner Ireka Jelani says Kwanza promotes several principles including unity.
