Mental health may soon be included under the umbrella of non communicable diseases.
That’s one of the considerations coming out of the just-concluded Small Island Developing States Ministerial Conference on NCDs and Mental Health.
Health Minister Dr. the Most Honourable Jerome Walcott, at a media conference following the presentation of the outcome document last evening, said most of the conference participants are in favour of its inclusion.
Dr. Walcott believes the outcome document – the Bridgetown Declaration, which is divided into 15 main points, two annexes, and various subheads – addresses the need for accelerated action.
