There is a major concern that parents and guardians are dropping child abuse cases. The issue has been highlighted by the Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs, Kirk Humphrey.
He says the Director of the Child Care Board, Roseann Richards, informed him just last week, that she was advised by police of six cases of parents or guardians opting not to pursue such cases.
Mr. Humphrey says the new Child Protection Legislation passed earlier this year will make it mandatory for parents to report child abuse cases.
