A group of community activists is giving back to the youth in a St. Michael district ahead of the start of the Michaelmas Term.
The initiative is a collaboration between A Journey to Yoruba, Good To Go Building Services, Game Changing Foundation, and Surplus for Humanity Inc.
Spokesperson Jamanni Brathwaite, who is the organiser of the garden party A Journey to Yoruba, says he is encouraged by the response when he and his friends are able to donate to those in need.
A CBC News team caught up with him as he was packing stationery items into backpacks to be handed out to schoolchildren.
Mr. Brathwaite has this advice for all students as they enter the school gates next Monday.
