Barbados’ One Dollar Glow-in-the-Dark Flying Fish Circulation Coin has been named the Best New Commemorative or Test Circulating Coin in the 2022 International Association of Currency Affairs Excellence in Currency Awards.
The Central Bank of Barbados and the Royal Canadian Mint were recognised as the award was officially presented at the 2022 Coin Conference in the Netherlands.
The limited-edition circulation coin was launched virtually in November 2020.
It was issued in honour of Barbados’ front line workers who helped the nation overcome the COVID-19 pandemic.
