A word of encouragement to the church not to be daunted by the challenges of immorality within society, but to take charge of the responsibility it has been ordained with to uphold principles by spreading the gospel of Christ.
The challenge from Minister of Labour, Social Security and the Third Sector, Colin Jordan who was speaking at the opening Quadrennial General Conference of the Wesleyan Church at the Mount of Praise Wesleyan Holiness Church at Tudor Bridge in St. Michael.
Mr. Jordan says Barbados is not a theocracy and any governance from a moral standpoint needs to be led by the church.
According to him, the church and state have different roles to play in the society.
Mr. Jordan says through its partnership with the church, Government is able to reach into the heart of communities.
