The Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) has heeded calls for greater youth involvement in disaster risk reduction.
Eexecutive Director Elizabeth Riley says the Barbados-based CDEMA has supported that vision and identified youth-led strategies aimed at empowering vulnerable groups.
Her remarks came during a hybrid intergenerational dialogue titled “Empowering the Next Generation for a Resilient Future”.
It was hosted by CDEMA and the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction.
Ms. Riley says as an organisation, CDEMA is poised to do more, stating the future depends on the empowerment of the younger generation.
