Barbadians could see cashless transactions introduced on some of the island’s taxis and public service vehicles in the coming months.
This comes as the Alliance Owners of Public Transport rolls out its new MyReadyCa$h app to the public.
Communications, Information and Marketing Officer of AOPT Mark Haynes revealed robberies continue to be a major challenge for the sector.
He believes the new app could eventually result in a cashless system, creating a safer commuting experience for both passengers and operators.
Mr. Haynes describes the app as a game changer for the PSV sector, and revealed registration, public sensitization and training for conductors are next on the agenda.
