Case brought against DLP adjourned again

June 26, 2024

The case brought by Ricardo Williams against the Democratic Labour Party for the reinstatement of its President and General Secretary has been adjourned again.

The Chief Justice today ruled the status quo remains the same for the leadership of the Democratic Labour Party.

That means Andre Worrell remains as Acting President and Pedro Shepherd as Acting General Secretary instead of the substantive holders Ronnie Yearwood and Steve Blackett respectively.

The matter, which was heard in Chambers by Chief Justice Leslie Haynes, is to return to the High Court on July 23rd.

He’s asked for certain affidavits to be filed before they return to court.
