As we get deeper into the hurricane season, we are hearing calls from a leading engineer for minimum building standards to be enforced.

He says the Barbados National Standards Institution has already established a Building Code for engineers in Barbados.
Referring to the new sugarcrete technology, Lieutenant Colonel Browne says there is no need to introduce a new experimental technology when the material used in the region is adequate.
