Consideration is being given to increasing the fines for motorists who indiscriminately park in spaces reserved for people with disabilities.
That’s according to disabilities advocate and Member of Parliament for St. James North, Edmund Hinkson.
Mr. Hinkson says the proposal has been sent to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Santia Bradshaw.
Mr. Hinkson was speaking during Debate on a resolution to approve the National Policy for Improving the Lives of Persons with Disabilities.
He says the plan is to meet with insurance companies again, to discuss challenges affecting members of the community in this regard.
