Barbados wants to see a normalisation of ties between Cuba and the United States.
Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Kereeta Whyte stated the island’s position as it joined with the majority of UN members Wednesday in reiterating a call for an end to the embargo against Cuba.
She says the island values its strong relationship with both countries, noting the step will pave the way for greater peace, cooperation and development in the region.
Barbados also wants Cuba removed from the list of countries of that sponsor terrorism.
