There’s a suggestion dog insurance should be mandatory for people with certain breeds of dogs.
It’s coming from owner and head trainer of Loyalty Canine Services, Paul ‘Ras Simba’ Rock.
He was speaking during a press conference called to address recent public outcry about dog attacks.
Mr. Rock who was himself attacked by a German Shepherd Akita a few weeks ago while out walking, says he’s yet to be compensated.
According to him, the attack cost him thousands of dollars in medical bills and lost income, as he was unable to work.
He believes this is one reason why insurance for what he calls the guardian breeds or dogs used for protection, is necessary.
Ras Simba who is the owner of six big breed dogs, says poor dog ownership, not dogs is to blame for dog attacks.
He believes all canines should receive some level of training.
