Barbadians can and should do more to support the disabled community.
This from Director of the National Disabilities Unit, John Hollingsworth.
He says more needs to be done to ensure equal access to services in Barbados by the disabled.
Mr. Hollingsworth spoke to CBC News at the annual picnic hosted by the Special Envoy for Persons With Disabilities, Roslyn Hurley.
Guests were treated to entertainment, food and games at the National Botanical Gardens over the weekend.
Mr. Hollingsworth says the National Disabilities Unit will soon implement some of their plans to provide greater employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for the disabled.
