Barbadians and other business people from across the CARICOM region are being urged to attend the 3rd AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum.
The plea from Acting Chief Operating Officer of Afreximbank, Okechukwu Ihejirika who says there needs to be more buy-in from people in Barbados and the wider region.
He was speaking during an interview with CBC News.
Mr. Ihejirika, who has been stationed in Barbados over the past ten months, says already they have chartered flights from Cairo, Addis Ababa, and Lagos with over 2,200 people registered to attend the conference which is being held in the Bahamas from June 12 to 14.
He says Africans are looking for ways to return home to the Caribbean and invest but that can’t happen if there is no one for the business people to interact with.
