Barbadians are being warned to brace for more hot days, which are forecast to continue up to September or October this year.
Data from the World Meteorological Organisation suggests the first week in July was the hottest week on record, following on from the hottest June on record, worldwide.
Meteorologist, Racquel Davis has confirmed the trend is also being seen in Barbados, with maximum temperatures between 30 and 35 degrees Celsius from June 1st to July 13th.
Ms Davis says while rainfalls associated with Tropical Storm Bret and a tropical wave have brought some relief from the agricultural drought, below-average rainfall is still expected up until about October.
