BMS monitoring tropical wave

The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) is monitoring a tropical wave, which is located in the far eastern Atlantic near 30W.

This tropical wave is expected to track westwards within the next 4 to 5 days.

Environmental conditions are expected to become marginally favourable in 72 hours for slow development. However, the BMS says this is expected to be shortlived as the system approaches an unfavourable environment closer to Barbados early next week.

At this time, there are no watches or warnings in effect for Barbados.

However, the public is encouraged to monitor official sources over the coming days.

An update will be issued tomorrow at 11:00 a.m.
