The Barbados Light and Power Company is today shedding some light on the reasons behind recent frequent power outages across the country.
In a statement, Manager of Communications and Government Relations, Jackie Marshall-Clarke reveals three main problems plaguing the network.
The first is what Ms. Marshall-Clarke calls third party incidents or vehicular accidents involving the company’s utility poles and lines.
According to her there has been a spike in these incidents in the last few weeks.
The other two issues faced by the BL&P go hand in hand – high winds and kites, with the latter proving to be a real nuisance for Light and Power crews.
The BL&P Manager explains.
