The Barbados Light and Power Company Limited (BL&P) is now in a better position to restore electricity to thousands of customers in St. Philip, St. George, Christ Church and St. John, in the event of a power outage.
The company introduced its three million dollar new state-of-the-art substation at Hampton, St. Philip to members of the media today.
It also took the opportunity to announce its state of readiness for the predicted above normal hurricane season.
