Bill introduced to ensure IMO audit compliance

Barbados continues to ensure it satisfies the requirements of the International Maritime Organisation.

This by moving another piece of key legislation to ensure compliance with the 2018 audit.

The introduction of the Marine Transport Emissions Control Bill comes following the recent passing of the Domestic Vessels Bill and other legislation.

Minister of Tourism and International Transport, Ian Gooding-Edghill says the overarching goals are to prevent, reduce and control pollution from ship-sourced emissions and to encourage ships to be more energy efficient.
