Global resource firm, BHP has announced it is preparing for a seismic programme soon in offshore blocks off Barbados.
The Bimshire and Carlisle Bay blocks are located 25 to 87 miles southeast of Barbados, in waters reportedly up to 2000 metres in depth.
The company revealed in its latest operations update it has secured approval for a 3D seismic survey.
Both blocks were awarded to BHP in early February 2020.
BHP says it is undertaking the pre-work, including the regulatory approvals.
The survey is expected to commence in the December 2021 quarter.
