The treatment of the disabled and the elderly, abortion rights and the current power of the Government without an opposition party are some of the issues raised by Barbados Community College students in their meeting with members of the Parliamentary Reform Commission.
The students also made a case for Barbados to consider a unicameral system rather than the current bicameral model at the town hall held at the BCC’s liberal arts auditorium.

Fellow Law and Sociology student Jade Haynes went in-depth, providing a breakdown of votes in the recent general election.
She supports the proportional representation system and wants Barbados to have a mandatory opposition.
Law and Sociology student Yeva Jones wants Barbados to consider lowering the age requirement for being a member of parliament.
She believes it should match the voting age of 18 years.
