Barbados has paid homage to its diplomatic partners who have stood by the island over the years since attaining Independence.
Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley says the country has been clear on what it stands for and has worked with its partners on issues in which they all have a vested interest, including climate change and recently, the COVID-19 pandemic.
Her comments came during a cocktail reception to commemorate the island’s 55th anniversary of Independence and the country’s transition to a Parliamentary Republic.
The event was jointly hosted by the British High Commission, the High Commission of Canada, the delegation of the European Union and the US Embassy.
Prime Minister Mottley says partnerships are important for the country.
