Barbados committed to complying with int’l tax standards

Barbados has signalled its commitment to complying with international tax standards, by signing a new agreement.

At a ceremony in Paris, France, Minister in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs, Ryan Straughn, signed the document on behalf of Barbados along with eight other jurisdictions.

The “Multilateral Convention to Facilitate the Implementation of the Pillar Two Subject to Tax Rule” seeks to ensure fairer and better international tax arrangements, particularly for developing countries.

Minister Straughn highlighted a number of recent legislative changes to Barbados’ tax regime.

He says the reforms are an important part of the island’s efforts to drive investment and build climate and economic resilience.
