Barbadians are being urged to know the risks associated with tsunamis.
The advice is coming from the Director of the Department of Emergency Management Kerry Hinds.
She was speaking during a ceremony to launch the start of Coastal Hazards and Earthquake Smart Month at the Folkestone Park and Marine Reserve yesterday.
Several groups were present with information on display including the Marine Police Unit, Barbados Coast Guard, the National Disabilities Unit and the Fisheries Division among others.
Coastal Planner in the Coastal Zone Management Unit Fabian Hinds says under the Tsunami Ready Recognition Programme, the plan is to ensure that every constituency along coastal areas is prepared.
