Bajan nurses taking more lucrative jobs overseas

Greater opportunities for upward mobility and specialisation, have been identified as measures that could keep Barbadian nurses from taking more lucrative jobs overseas.

These were among the suggestions put forward by panellists during last evening’s programme of The People’s Business on CBC TV’s 8.

Public Relations Officer of the Barbados Nurses Association, Alvin Hart, says while nurses here take as long as 15 years to be promoted to some levels, those who emigrate, are finding it easier to advance professionally.
