At least 4 new hotels to open in Barbados

A major boost for the accommodation sector, as at least four new hotels will be opening in Barbados over the next two years.

Chairman of the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association, Javon Griffith says two hotels will open their doors next year, with another two will coming on stream in 2026.

He says officials are hoping construction of the new Hyatt Ziva with 380 rooms and forty condominiums, will commence in short order given the recent confirmation of the 90 million us dollar loan to finance the project.

He made the disclosure at the BHTA’s third quarterly general meeting.

Mr. Griffith adds Barbados will welcome a record amount of airlifts in the upcoming winter season.

He says when the season begins on October 27, airlift will be doubled from a number of source markets, while several flights will resume from the United States.
