Alma Parris School to be reopened

Special needs school Alma Parris will be reopening its doors, as the need for special education has increased significantly.

Minister of Education, Technological and Vocational Training Kay McConney told a press conference this afternoon that an environment must be built out to suit their specific needs and more diagnostic testing will take place.

The premises of the school are ready and while a roll of 30 students was initially planned, that number may go higher.

Chief Education Officer Dr. Ramona Archer-Bradshaw says they are also building special needs capacity at a number of other schools across the country.
