A UK-bound chartered flight from Barbados was forced to make an emergency landing in Bermuda early on Christmas Eve.
The Maleth Aero flight 1975 was carrying 225 passengers who had been on a P&O Caribbean Cruise.
Less than 3 hours into the 7-hour journey, the aircraft was reportedly caught in extreme turbulence.
A woman who was on board said it was a scary experience as the plane dropped unexpectedly.
The Ministry of National Security in Bermuda confirmed emergency services took 11 people to hospital and that nine had been released after treatment.
The ministry said the aircraft will be grounded until a comprehensive inspection is completed to confirm its integrity.
