As citizens move out of the parish of St. Michael, Senior Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Dr. William Duguid says new developments have been taking place in the urban corridor.
St. Michael is said to have lost 9% of its population over the past 20 years and there is an estimated 20,000 vacant lots in Barbados.
It was further revealed much of the recent developments have been taking place in St. James, St. Philip and St. George.
Dr. Duguid was at the time contributing to debate in the Lower House on a resolution on the Barbados Physical Development Plan as amended 2023.
Dr. Duguid adds Barbados has lost agricultural land citing statistics during his presentation in the Lower House.
