3 arrested and charged with drug offences

Three men have been formally jointly charged for a slew of drug-related offences.

Police’s Serious Organised Crime Unit has arrested 48-year-old Dave Rodney Sylvain, of St. David’s Village, Christ Church and 47-year-old Richard Clarence Williams, of St. David’s Village, Christ Church and 30-year-old St. Lucian national Baggio Desir of Bobouannu, St. Lucia.

The men were charged with the following offences committed on Sunday, August 18, 2024, while at Sterling Road, St. Philip:

Possession of Cannabis
Possession with intent to supply cannabis
Trafficking in cannabis
Possession of cocaine
Intent to supply cocaine
Trafficking in cocaine

Weight of cocaine 258.10 kg- Street Value $12,905,000.00 BDS.
Weight of cannabis 13.79 kg- Street Value $121,680.00 BDS.

Baggio Desir has been separately charged with the following offences:

Entering except a port of entry
Disembarking without the consent of an Immigration Officer

They appeared before Magistrate Bernadeth John in the District ‘C’ Magistrate’s Court today, Thursday, August 22, 2024, and have been remanded to The Barbados Prison Service (Dodds).

Desir, Sylvain and Williams are scheduled to reappear in the District ‘C’ Magistrate Court on Thursday, September 19, 2024.
