12-year-old girl injured in shooting

A 12-year-old girl is the victim of the latest shooting incident in Barbados.

She was among a group of children playing outside her home in Silver Hill, Christ Church, when a man emerged from a vehicle and sprayed the area with gunshots.

That’s according to Police Communication and Public Affairs Officer Inspector Rodney Inniss, who says the incident happened just after eight last night.

He says the girl suffered injuries to one of her wrists and one of her legs.

Inspector Inniss says she was taken by neighbours to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Police investigations into the incident are continuing.
