With the new Road Traffic Accident Policy in effect, the Barbados Police Service continues to sensitise citizens about the policy and how it works.
Under the new policy, police officers will only respond to fatal accidents or those involving serious injuries, while minor accidents will be handled by insurance agents.
If the accident meets the criteria for police involvement, a police officer will be deployed to the scene.
Communications and Public Affairs Officer, Inspector Rodney Inniss reminded accidents must be reported.
Inspector Inniss was a guest on CBC TV8’s Mornin’ Barbados.
Inspector Inniss says the policy will free up its officers, given the shortage.
