An American Airlines flight from Miami to Barbados had to return to the airport around nine Wednesday night after multiple people onboard became sick.
AA Flight 338 departed from the Miami International Airport but returned due to a strong chemical odor – believed to be nail polish remover – coming from a passenger’s carry-on item.
The plane landed safely and passengers were offered hotel accommodations.
American Airlines says five crew members were transported to an area hospital, and no passengers were hospitalised.
A total of 173 passengers were on the flight.
The flight was rescheduled for nine this morning.
