(CNN) – Jetblue is making big changes to its carry-on baggage policy.
On Tuesday the airline said Basic Economy ticket holders will soon be able to bring a carry-on bag in addition to their personal item.
That’s as long as space permits.
Passengers previously had to pay more if they wanted to stow a carry-on.
The new policy takes effect in September.
And it doesn’t matter when the ticket was purchased.
The change will make United Airlines the only major carrier that does not allow carry-on bags on Basic Economy tickets.
