Barbados and destinations of the region are benefiting from added exposure through Caribbean Week, which is being hosted in New York by the Caribbean Tourism Organisation.
This year’s event carries the CTO’s 35th-anniversary theme, “Connecting the Globe, Celebrating Diversity” and is designed to foster collaboration and growth within the Caribbean tourism industry.
Activities include the popular Caribbean Media Marketplace, the return of the Caribbean Media Awards, and a celebration of cricket, recognising the region’s role as host of the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup.
The week commenced with a church service at the Lenox Road Baptist Church in Brooklyn.
Secretary General of the CTO, Dona Regis-Prosper says the Caribbean diaspora is important to the region and it’s important to connect with them.
