Call for full decolonisation of the Caribbean

Barbados’ Ambassador to CARICOM, David Comissiong wants focus placed on the full decolonisation of the Caribbean.

He revealed there are still 19 colonies in the Caribbean – belonging to the United Kingdom, France and The Netherlands.

Ambassador Commissiong was a guest on the Conversations on CARICOM segment of CBC TV8’s Mornin’ Barbados.

Ambassador Comissiong says the decolonisation movement has been put on pause in a number of these territories and dependencies as efforts are made to push self-governance.
